Earlier this year, we sat down with Brent Allen of Michigan’s I See Stars to get to know him a little better, check out a short interview below the cut!
BPB: Introduce yourself and your position in the band
Brent: I’m Brent and I play guitar in I See Stars and I’m very alone right now.
BPB: Describe your music to somebody whose never heard of you before.
Brent: Electronic, screamo, new-age, rock, punk-pop, everything music. There it is.
BPB: If you weren’t playing music, what would you be doing?
Brent: I have no idea because I’ve been in I See Stars, well with the people in I See Stars for like ten years, and I’m only 20, so that’s half of my life. Hopefully a professional basketball star but probably not; so I don’t know.
BPB: Best tour prank.
Brent: One time, Zach sprayed a fire extinguisher, in a band we were touring with’s van, and the dude in the front seat actually passed out and their van rolled down a hill. It was epic.
BPB: Whose a local artist from your area who you think deserves more attention?
Brent: Alive in Standby, and our friends in Lights Out. Both of those bands are awesome.
BPB: Favorite song to perform live and why?
Brent: The Common Hours, just because we’ve been playing it for the longest, and I’d say the most kids know that song.
BPB: Describe your fans in one word.
Brent: I could say amazing, incredible, awesome. They’re the best.
BPB: Most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done on stage.
Brent: I’ve almost fell a couple times, I’ve actually watched Jeff fall a couple times and I was embarrassed for him. So, I’ll take the credit for that.
BPB: Every day I …
Brent: I wish I had a cool answer. Well I try to get up, and go up front and drive with our driver who usually drives by himself. Everyday I play the guitar onstage with the band.
BPB: I couldn’t live without …
Brent: I couldn’t live without my cell phone, my laptop, friends. Food and water and air.
BPB: Never have I ever …
Brent: Jumped off an airplane.
BPB: Favorite pick-up line.
Brent: How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice.
BPB: Any last words?
Brent: Stay tuned for a new record by the end of this year or early next year and thank you!
