This week on Degrassi viewers witnessed Dave being a great friend to Wesley when it came to his pogo stick record. So we caught up with Jahmil French who plays Dave to talk about theatre, his life on set and more!

Dave seems to be the kid who gets along with everyone. Would you say you’re like that yourself?
I definitely think Dave and I are very much alike when it comes to this. I believe I have a personality that usually appeals to all crowds, and having a good social time with anybody has never been too challenging. At the end of the day we’re all people that want to enjoy life, and with this in mind I just try to stay open to the diversity of all individuals, and have fun!

Any word on if Dave, Connor and Wesley’s band will take off this semester?
I’m not sure if the Three Tenner’s music career will go any farther. It would definitely be interesting and as we know in Degrassi, anything is possible!

What do you and the rest of the cast do during your down time on set?
When I’m not preparing for a scene, the cast and I like to blast music in the rec room, have dance/rap battles, and watch movies.

Dave is set on getting a girlfriend. What would his perfect girl be like?
I think in all honesty, Dave’s perfect girl would be like … really hot!

You’ve done quite a lot in theatre. Do you still do shows when Degrassi isn’t filming?
Absolutely! When I’m not filming I try to be a part of as much theatre as possible! I also take a lot of acting classes between jobs and perform at shows with my dance crew “The MoonRunners”.
