Emarosa released their new album a few weeks ago, and if you missed the band on Warped, you must go see them on AP Tour this fall! We caught up with lead singer Jonny in Oceanport to talk about the new album, shit-talkers and more!

First introduce yourself and what you do in the band.
I’m Jonny and I sing in Emarosa.

Tell a secret about yourself and each of your band members.
I don’t really have any secrets…and I’m not going to tell any secrets about the band!

How do you feel about the solo project and Emarosa? Which do you prefer?
The solo project just allows me to continue to do shit when the band’s not touring anymore.  I can still tour, I can still write so that’s what the difference is between them.

If you could have a duet with any vocalist on an Emarosa song, what song would you choose and which vocalist?
I keep bugging Hayley from Paramore and it really doesn’t matter what song.

How do you feel about the response to the new album?
I like it, a lot of kids seemed to enjoy it!

What was your overall inspiration for the album?
Um, a lot of stuff…a dumbass girl.

What is your favorite new Song to play live?
My favorite song on the new album is We Are Life but we don’t play that live yet, so I would say The Game Played Right.

What is your alcoholic beverage of choice?
Anything that gets your drunk! I like tequila.

How do you deal with shit-talkers?
I don’t.

How has Warped Tour been?  Who have you been seeing?
It’s good; it’s hot, getting sunburned.  I haven’t really watched a lot of bands yet, we still have a lot of time so I’m just going to wait for everyone to get into their groove before I get out there and watch them.

Do you have anything else to add?
Nope, that’s pretty much it.
