There’s been more than a few bumps in the road for Ohio’s Hawthorne Heights, but with the release of their new record only months away, the guys are doing everything they can to push forward. We caught up with Eron on tour to talk all things music.
Where did the band name come from?
It’s just something we kind of came up with, it doesn’t really mean anything. We wanted something that didn’t sound like one genre….I don’t know it sounded cool so we went with it!
Do you have any fun tour stories?
The first time we played Warped Tour 2005…that was a lot of fun because I had grown up going to that tour. To actually be on it and be playing main stage was an awesome experience.
What is your favorite album of yours that you guys have put out?
Personally, I think our new one is my favorite. I think we have really grown as a band and this is the most diverse. We’ve got a lot of different things that stand us out. Although you guys haven’t heard it, you will soon!
What do you think you’d be doing right now if you weren’t in the band?
I’d be working a marketing job at a cable company in Dayton, Ohio…still.
What’s an up and coming band to the scene that you think people should know about?
I really don’t know unfortunately. I haven’t been looking into a lot of new music lately…
What have you been listening to a lot recently then?
Actually I haven’t been listening to a lot of music lately! My wife and I just had a baby not too long ago so my arms have been really full with that! Unfortunately that doesn’t leave a lot of time for enjoying music like I used to!
What do you guys have planned for the rest of 2010?
Lots and lots of touring! We want to get back on the road like we used to, tour nonstop and now that we have a new label we want to get back out there in front of all our fans! We haven’t really gotten to touch base with them in awhile.
Who was your favorite band to tour with in the past? What bands would you like to tour with in the future?
We toured with Bayside a lot, they’re our good friends. They’re a lot of fun to be with. As far as future tours we don’t really have anything lined up yet. We just want to get back out there, doesn’t really matter who it’s with.
Do you have any last words for your fans?
Please go check out our new album, it comes out June 1st. First single Nervous Breakdown comes out March 23rd so make sure you check that out as well! And come to a show!
