A while back we got to talk to Chris of FiveOhFirst. After the cut find out about their future plans, Chris’ dream tour and the erm… naked conductor.

Introduce yourself and your role in the band.

My name is Chris and I play guitar in the band.

Who would you say some of your biggest inspirations are?

I would say our biggest are All Time Low, Four Year Strong, Blink-182, A Day To Remember…yeah, that’s about it.

You released an EP in January, how was the crowd response to that?

The EP initially had a really good response. It was anticipated by a lot of people and we sold out all our CD’s really quick. We sold half of them at our CD release show.

And what about the self-titled you just put out recently?

That one is having a really good response too. We’re promoting that one a lot actually and we’re bringing music videos out too to put it out there even more. And since our music videos get so many views on Youtube, we’re seeing that our sales on iTunes are increasing almost every day.

Is there a story behind the band name?

Uhhh, that band name… The most that I can say is that there is a legion in Star Wars, I’m not the guy in the band who knows the entire background, but it is related to Star Wars, I can tell you that much.

What would you say your favorite thing to do is when you have down time?

When we have down time our favorite thing to do is play video games. We all love to play and hang out. We’re not just a band, we’re all best friends and we love to spend time together.

Do you have any personal favorite video games?

We kind of switch it off but it’s probably Halo. We played that pretty much all summer and during break at band practice.

Is there any album or artist that you can’t stop listening to right now?

Personally, I’ve been listening to… Oh man, I’ve been listening to a lot of stuff. I’d say the album that I listen to the most right now is All Time Low album. But I’m a huge metal fan too.

If you could go on tour with any four bands, together or separated, dead or alive, which would they be?

Okay, I would go on tour with Blink-182, A Day To Remember, I actually got to hang out with those guys one day after a show and they’re absolutely hilarious so I’d say them, maybe… I don’t even know! I can’t tell you. I don’t want to give you some bogus answer. Maybe like New Found Glory, yeah that’s definitely one of them, maybe All Time Low? They seem pretty fun. Anybody that likes to have fun is what I’d like tour with. No stiff guys that are going to sit there and be boring, no losers.

Do you have any funny high school stories?

Let me think…I would say… I don’t know. I don’t know any good ones. I’m trying to think of one recently. Well one time… actually never mind. I have one story that’s really, really inappropriate. Well, I could tell you a story from NOT high school. One time we were here at my house and we were in the middle of University, cause we’re in college.  We were feeling good and we went into my room and we starting playing songs from our band and drawing all these people and everyone was just singing and clapping to all the songs and I noticed that my friend was slowly taking off pieces of his clothes and so he just keeps going and going and we got to the bridge in the song and by that time he’s just butt-ass naked, swinging his member around to the rhythm of the breakdown. Then he runs upstairs and was swinging around and everyone’s running and screaming around the house. We caught it all on video too.

What would you say your favorite song to perform is?

My favorite would probably be “Writing Fiction”, I love it. It just pumps me up. Also I get to do a lot of singing in it but it’s got so much energy. It’s tiring but it’s fun to play.

Do you have any plans for touring soon or are you waiting until you’re all out of school?

We’re actually talking about a tour. We’re trying for winter break but it doesn’t look like that’s happening. Over the summer though we’re definitely touring and possibly recording a full length album and so to promote that, we’ll go on tour. We’re all seniors, at least most of us. So after that it’s just going to be jamming and touring full time.

If you could sum up everything your band stands for in three words, what would they be?

I would say fun, frickin’… party and dedicated. Dedicated to fun parties!
