A while back, Jeremy Smith of Days Difference spilled it all to B-PB. After the cut find out about him breaking the law, what he loves to do when he’s home from tour and even the crazy prank he was victim to this past summer on their tour with All Time Low.
Introduce yourself and your role in the band.
I’m Jeremy and I sing for the band.
How did you get the name Days Difference?
We got the name Day’s Difference when we were trying to name the band and we had this long list of names that we’d come up with and this one day I saw this flyer that said “Make a difference” and the name Days Difference just came to mind and that’s kind of how it happened.
How’d you come up with the concept for the ‘Are You Happy’ video?
The director, Ethan, was the guy who came up with the idea and had the inspiration for it. He just loved it and thought it was brilliant and so we went with it.
You did a short tour with All Time Low this past summer. How was that for you?
That tour was incredible. Every single concert we played had thousands of people. The guys in All Time Low are so cool. We The Kings and Cartel were on that tour with us too and it was just incredible.
Have there been any memorable moments from either that tour or the tour before that?
Yeah there was this one night we were in our RV in Ohio I think. We were all about to go to sleep and all of a sudden our RV starts shaking side to side. People were falling out of their beds. My brother Jonathan and I jump out to see what’s going on and it’s the guys from All Time Low, We The Kings and Cartel rocking the RV.
What’s one of your funniest memories from high school?
One of my funniest memories from high school… It has to be the time I was with some of my friends and one of them was going off to college. We were sitting around thinking ‘we should do something crazy tonight! We should do something fun and memorable’ and Jeremiah was with me and he said ‘dude we should drive on the wrong side of the road!’ and we looked around to see if there were any cops and we just floored it and went down the wrong side of the road. Then we tried to turn to get into a parking lot but I turned too quickly and swerved across the road and hit the side walk. Everybody in the car was freaking out, it was so funny. I don’t recommend anybody ever do that though, it was just hilarious.
If you had to classify each member of your band as a high school stereotype, what would each one be?
Jeremiah would be the serious one, Micah would be the ladies man, John would be the funny guy and I’d probably be the jock.
For anyone who might not know, what are your upcoming touring plans?
We’re going on tour with a band called School Boy Humor actually we leave this Friday. It finishes in California in the middle of November. We’re planning another tour actually that’s supposed to start in late November. We’re seeing how that works. Also, we’re planning a college tour that’s supposed to start in February.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not on tour?
When we’re not on tour I love exercising and working out, it’s one of my favorite things to do. Also to just be with my friends too is great. I like songwriting too, just sitting down with the piano and writing new material. It’s so relaxing.
